|Duties:|| Creating efficiencies to ensure profitable, on-time and safe delivery of products; ongoing coordination, assessment and liaison responsibilities including any renegotiations and provider changes as necessary|
Responsible for the inbound and outbound freight management within the operation network in the Americas and provides guidance and support in that area to the house of North America
Manages special job requests; actively participating in and contributing to all top management strategic business discussions relating to the Logistics environment.
Works closely with the Carl Zeiss Vision (CZV) Leadership Team and their staff to address strategic business issues and help chart the companys future direction
Drive and maintain all Legal Compliance activities (such as C-TPAT, FDA, NEEC, Customs Compliance, etc.) related to import/export functions and supports operation entities in all questions related to regulations (such as Maquiladora, NAFTA, etc.).
Collaborates closely with planning and scheduling teams within MXMASS and the SCM team of the House of North America.
Responsible for the function of Export Compliance Manager, directly reporting into the Chief Export Officer of the legal entity Carl Zeiss Vision Inc.
Direct freight carrier negotiations and consolidate to an efficient network of carriers
Working with SCM regional/country leaders, assess and renegotiate outbound freight contracts to customers as appropriate
Ongoing assessment and monitoring via standard KPIs
Project involvement and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): New customer proposals, global freight recovery process; Lean strategy and implementation, SCM IT strategy definition and implementation; re-configuration, movement and re-evaluating of contracts as required
Monthly review of Financial costs to support management initiatives
Perform additional tasks as required.
|Qualifications:||Undergraduate degree in SCM Logistics management or equivalent field preferred.|
Requires complete knowledge of generally accepted carrier negotiations, Carrier Selection processes, developing and maintaining appropriate KPIs, strong analytical skills, documented certification in the following areas such as import/export, iata, FDA, Customs Related regulations, Human Resources policies. A minimum of 5 7 years of experience in Logistics, transportation industry and/or Supply Chain Management required.
Previous supervisory experience is required.
Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, interpersonal, and communications skills are essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication, computer, analytical problem solving, planning/organizational, interpersonal/teamwork, negotiation and leadership skills are necessary.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Usual office environment. Occasional travel required.
Works on assignments of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
General office equipment used including: PC and related software, 10-key calculator, telephone, copier, and fax machine.
